How Did We Start?

Back in February of 2008, a chess player who lived in the Western Addition sadly realized that there were no places nearyby where he could play chess in a warm, friendly environment. To solve this problem, he started posting on craigslist to find people to play with at a local cafe. As more people became aware of the group, it grew, and here we are now!

We welcome any and all people to come share this ancient game. Regardless of your skill level, age, gender, or affiliation of any sort, you are welcome and invited to come play with us!
